“If we do a medical checkup, 50 per cent of Goa police forceis physically unfit. They will have some or other problems like diabetics. I amnot blaming [the] police. There are pressures and unexpected demands which hasbecome part and parcel of their profession,” Parrikar told a gathering ofpolicemen.

The state police has decided to hold community policinginitiatives so as to improve their connection with the people. Parrikar saidthat the police force was completely demoralised when he took over the reignsof the state in March, this year.
